Original Paintings and Drawings

My online portfolio includes original paintings and drawings in this website section. The work is primarily paintings but also includes some drawings and mixed-media pieces. Most importantly, my artwork is a chronicle of unique subject matter and imagination; furthermore, I approach painting with a Contemporary Realism that draws on a Representational Tradition, rejecting postmodernism.

Attributes:

The size, media, and ground (surface) vary depending on the artwork.
The drawings have a gray matte finish and a black frame, topped with UV glass.
Each painting’s gallery-wrapped edges match the work, which protrudes from the wall, creating a three-dimensional effect.
All artwork is ready to hang and does not require any additional hardware for installation.

Figurative

First of all, as a figure drawing instructor for higher education, drawing the human figure inspires me, whether sketching straightforwardly or conceptually.

There are figurative elements to my work via the rural and urban landscape, including a new direction and passion for the nude. I combine the figure’s curves with the landscape, nature, or the geography of the scene. I select the model for his or her aesthetic beauty, personality, and free spirit. The setting of the scene is manipulated to balance human existence and its natural surroundings.
